The Dangarembizi's Summer Shoot

This family was such fun and the girls so photogenic. The colours in the garden were bright and colourful and their personalities definitely matched this bright boldness.
The love they have for each other and for God is so evident - so wonderful.

Valentines planning

Yes, Valentines day is a cliche. And yes, all those gimicky toys you buy seem to find their way to the back of the cupboard. And yes, you could probably just say "I love you" everyday instead. But those things aside...there's something about Valentine's that makes girls swoon especially if their man treats them to something a little special. Remember girls, Valentines isn't only for us, the boys need to be treated too.
Here's an awesome way to remember your Valentine's present - a romantic couple shoot, just the two of you captured. These won't end up at the back of your cupboard, they won't be cliche and you will want to say I love you all the time to each other when you see them.

Contact me if you'd like to book a shoot. :)

Warm and Kind

Sometimes you get kind, and warm hearted clients. Ada was definitely one of those clients. She was game for anything and as I trudged her through the mud and long grassy park, I had not even one complaint! I love how her photos turned out and her personality shines through.

Lindsey and Ryan's classically rustic wedding

Lindsey and Ryan are very special friends of ours which made it such a great day and memory. Lindsey made such a beautiful and calm bride. Her elegant stature was met so perfectly with her dress and the decor which they chose was classic yet a little rustic. Everything about the wedding and decor made me oodle with photographic excitement. There is something about the Western Cape which just makes photographing such a dream.

A big thanks to Cliff at Alexander Photography for allowing me to photograph this couple. The wedding was held at Mofam, in Elgin, but it felt like we were in the middle of the Alps with the mountains and trees surrounding us.

Lindsey arrived on a barge that she travelled on while Ryan and the guests waited for her. I love the build up to that first view they have of eachother. In this case, Lindsey and Ryan had about 5 minutes to see eachother from across the dam, and in this time, emotions were high between Lindsey, her dad and bridesmaids. It really was a special moment. I'm sure Ryan felt the same way as he waited for her.

From the moment she met with Ryan, it was magic. Sparks were flying and they had the longest kiss when it came to "you may kiss the bride".

A wonderful evening followed, with great speeches done by Dirk, Lindsey's dad and Ryan. In true Ryan McCormick style, the beers were rolling, the music high and a bride and groom that didn't want to leave their party even at 4oclock! :)

Congrats and hope you enjoyed your 'surprise' honeymoon!

Red, White and Black - Part 1

This was the theme for the day - red, white and black. A really striking combination which suited the couple perfectly - everything about this bride was striking. Dark hair with amazing green eyes, white dress with delicate black beads & lace, her tattoo on her left shoulder was a signature feature and looked great with the off shoulder dress. It's no wonder Scott's heart stopped beating as he saw her walk down the aisle.

In true December Joburg style, at 4oclock, the skies were black, and it was threatening to rain down on us. As I took my last shot, the rain god said Enough and we were ushered inside. A great party started inside as it rained non stop outside for the rest of the evening!
