The Chowles Family

What a pleasure it was to meet little Anais. Such a happy content baby with the cutest little smile. I wish I could've spent longer with them while we were in Cape Town - we miss you dearly and can't wait to see you again in Joburg.

Anais has this thing she does when she smiles where at the end of her smile she gives one last extra smile and her eyes just twinkle. She really did get the best aspects from both mom and dad!

Christmas 2010

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas spent with family, friends and pets.
2011 is speeding around the corner and hope you all have a super New Year party wherever you are. And remember don't drink and drive. :)

I love Cape Town

Cape Town has always had a special place in my heart. We used to travel there as kids, and I have some awesome memories from that part of the world!
Dirk and I took a drive through Gordons Bay and Bettys Bay on the way to Lindsey and Ryans wedding. What a spectacular day! I just can't get over the skies and colours of the ocean. So so pretty!!

Travels

Part of the fun of travelling is taking pictures along the way. While I sat taking pictures, Dirk sat working on his laptop. Both of us were super excited to get home to Zimbabwe to spend Christmas with the family.

2 years...

Today Dirk and I are celebrating our two year wedding anniversary.
Two years already! It feels like just the other day I was walking down the aisle.

Thanks to everyone who has made this year an awesome year and especially to you Bamboon - luff you lots and here's to many more years together. :)

Here I go and spread my wings...

Today marks the start of an amazing journey for me.
Today I took a step into the future.
Today I followed my dream.
Today I am a self-employed photographer.

An invigorating and yet terrifying feeling, standing at the edge of my nest.
I have spread my wings - and now it's time to fly.
And not only will I fly...but I will soar! :)

Colours of summer

A lazy Sunday afternoon was spent at the park with this family. Everyone beginning to wind down the weekend to start a fresh new week. Their daughter, Catherine, was such a cutie in her pink flower dress. Mum and dad, (Kerri and Donovan), looked happy and content as they played with her and we got the most gorgeous expressions out of her, especially the 'shock factor' face!

I love giving people their photographs as I really get inspired by their reactions and expressions. Their email to me after they had seen the photos gave me goosebumps - they said that both of them got very teared up after seeing them. That's why I love doing this - when I get those responses from people, it completely drives & motivates me!

Tanya's Hen Party

Sun, cocktails, pool, flower leis, PVC police hats, lingerie and bikinis...
Hen partys - they're always full of fun and laughter and of course, spoiling the bride-to-be! Tanya is going to make a gorgeous bride and wish her all the very best for her big day!

My Journey so far...

In case you didn't realise - I am very passionate about photography. :) Most of you that know me, expect the camera to be brought out at least once in the day. It's been an exciting, scary and amazing journey to get where I am now. I have some people who I want to thank and credit for inspiring me or encouraging me or helping me, even if they didn't know it.

Gerrie and Marika Wedding

Gerrie and Marika are such an amazing couple. Totally in love, totally welcoming, and totally beautiful! When I arrived where Marika was getting ready, I was blown away by how gorgeous she looked and how friendly her family are. I love experiencing the room full of emotion and excitement, the tears that twinkle in eyes and the loving words which are exchanged. Even though I don't understand Afrikaans, it was so evident to see and hear the love in that room.

One of my favourite moments of a wedding is when the bride walks in - and her groom sees her for the first time - magical! I could tell Gerrie was even more blown away than me when I first saw her.

I had such a soft spot for their little flowergirl &pageboy - what cutie pies! I think we have a budding photographer in our midst - she may have taken more photos than I did! :)

Gerrie and Marika - may you have many years of happiness and love ahead of you. x

James 2nd Birthday

I can't resist food, and where better to have food but at a kids party - there's always delicious snacks and yummy cake! It was all decorated so pretty! Finding Nemo was the theme of the day.

I could tell James had an awesome time - it was his day and he jumped on his jumping castle til his heart was content.
